Monolith is how artists protect themselves by making it impossible for their work to be used without attribution. By attaching a digital Mark to their work that can't be stripped, cropped, or ignored by AI, artists who use Monolith have the proof they need to take credit for everything they create.
Every file ever created has a unique fingerprint. On Monolith every artist sets up a Mark - this is your own creative identity that carries your custom details. We capture only the fingerprint from any file you upload, associate it with your Mark, and now the content of that file is permanently linked to your chosen identity, in the form of an Artifact. Anywhere that content is shared, the information included in your Mark is preserved, and available for anyone in the world to discover.
Monolith works with all the most widely used file types (except GIF), so you never have to worry about compatibility. We are continuously expanding Monolith’s capabilities, and if you happen to be working with something we don't currently support, just reach out - we are always happy to update and add it for you.
Yes. Monolith identifies content using only its fingerprint. Your file never leaves your device unless you choose to share the content publicly.
Yes, a Mark is about authorship, not ownership. Monolith leverages content fingerprints to identify files and associated information without sharing the file itself (no NDA risk). Many of the platforms that you use to create and share content everyday (i.e. Adobe, Google, Microsoft etc.) already do this. However, Monolith is the only platform that allows you, the creator, to customize the information associated with the content you create through a custom Mark.
Absolutely. You can Mark any file, regardless of when it was made. There's no time limit on taking credit for what you’ve created. (Hint: the easiest way to do this is by downloading our desktop app.)
Monolith will recognize the fingerprint as already being associated with an existing Artifact, and will not allow a second Artifact to be created. This ensures every piece of unique content can be verifiably traced back to one Mark and the information it contains.
No. Artifacts are permanent and can’t be deleted or modified in any way (other than to remove the visibility of the raw content).
Artifacts make no claim on the ownership of the content. The best way to protect yourself is to Mark all your work at the moment it is created, and at every stage of the creative process. This will prevent others from creating Artifacts with files that have already been Marked by you. (Good news - you can easily do this with our desktop app!)
Our desktop app is the fastest and easiest way to create Artifacts for every file you modify or save. The app automatically creates Artifacts for every new or existing file in any folder you choose to monitor on your computer. Monolith is always on in the background, protecting you.
No. Artists who use Monolith are protected forever! Artifacts are permanent and not contingent on any subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time and still retain access to your profile.

We built Monolith to bring this essential standard directly to you, the artist.
